Private Equity in Manhattan
Lilia began her M&A career in New York, working with a private equity group focused on acquiring privately held companies, consolidating operations and preparing portfolio companies for public market transactions.
Lilia Berezkina has spent more than three decades working with privately held businesses from several different vantage points: as an acquisition professional, business owner, broker and M&A advisor.
Her career began in Manhattan in the early 1990s, where she worked with a private equity group acquiring privately held companies, consolidating operations and preparing portfolio companies for public market transactions. That early exposure to the buyer side of a deal shaped the way she still approaches transactions today.
After moving to Florida, Lilia built and operated brokerage businesses of her own and continued advising business owners through sales, acquisitions, valuation and transaction strategy. Over the years, she developed a particular concentration in healthcare and medical related companies, while continuing to work across a broad range of privately held businesses.
Her approach is direct and practical. She believes owners deserve more than a listing process. They deserve candid advice about value, buyer behavior, transaction structure, risk and whether selling now is actually the right decision.
Outside of M&A, Lilia is a published fine artist, an avid gardener and rare plant collector, and a longtime breeder and exhibitor of rare breed dogs.
Lilia's career has included private equity acquisitions, business ownership, brokerage leadership and direct representation of buyers and sellers.

After relocating to Florida, Lilia established and operated brokerage businesses of her own, including a business brokerage office affiliated with an international franchise system. Her office consistently ranked among the organization’s stronger producing offices, giving her firsthand experience not only advising owners, but building and managing a transaction driven business herself.
Over time, Lilia developed a strong concentration in healthcare and medical related businesses, including home health, home care and other healthcare service companies.
Through Atlantic M&A Advisors, Lilia works directly with owners on valuation, transaction strategy, preparation for market, buyer selection, negotiations, due diligence and closing. Her work has included individual buyers, strategic acquirers, private equity groups and larger corporate transactions.
Lilia's early experience in private equity shaped the way she approaches seller representation today. Buyers examine value, risk, transferability, management, concentration, capital requirements and the durability of earnings.
That perspective helps us prepare owners for the questions buyers are likely to ask before those questions become negotiating problems.
Lilia has received multiple performance and transaction awards throughout her brokerage career and has been recognized for both transaction volume and production.
We are intentionally structured around direct advisor involvement. Business owners are not handed from one department to another as the transaction progresses.
Lilia remains personally involved in the valuation, positioning, buyer discussions, negotiations and transaction strategy.
A conversation does not have to begin with a listing agreement. It can begin with understanding the business, the owner's objectives and the options available.
